The third aspect to consider around the holidays is that family members are also on holiday schedule. Children are now at home looking for activities. Spouses might have more free time away from their workplace as well. They may request a shopping trip or time together to take care of holiday activities.

So how do you keep fitness in your life and stop worrying about being out of shape by January?

The first thing to do is to stop worrying and enjoy the down time. Worrying will actually increase your stress level. That is not something you need at this time. Instead, choose to relax and take it in stride. The holidays only last a couple of weeks. You might be a few pounds more than usual. However, you can do something about it come January.

In January, you can hire a personal trainer to get you back on keel. Book a few sessions to streamline your efforts back to fitness. That will be all you will probably need. A personal trainer’s job is to make sure your strategy is targeted and efficient. This way, you won’t be guessing your way back to health. You will waste less time with a trainer in the loop.

Find a trainer that doesn’t have a cookie cutter program. Make sure the trainer is interested in “personal” training and takes the individual’s interest and inclinations into account when writing up the program.

Mobile personal training is the current wave. Why not give it a try? You don’t have to leave the comfort of your home and go to a gym. Instead the trainer comes to you. The motivation of having a trainer come to you is incredible. You will have no more excuses. You will become fit. There is no “if I have the time” in the loop to consider.

Relax during the holidays. If you do find some time before everyone else gets up, put in some time doing the following short exercises:

1. Jump rope for as long as you can. You can easily carry a jump rope with you, even if you travel far for the holidays. Make sure you have a soft surface to jump on such as carpet. Wear athletic shoes to avoid knee impact. Stop and start as much as you want. Make it last 10 minutes. This is a great cardio workout that you can easily do anywhere.

2. Do about 15 to 20 push ups. Take a 30 second break. Do 15 to 20 more.

3. Do about 200 crunches.

4. Include as much vegetables and fruits as you can along with all the holiday eating. Apples are great as snacks.

5. Try to get some fresh air. Being indoors on holidays for the whole stretch deprives your body of much needed oxygen and can lead to crankiness!

6. Enjoy your holidays. Don’t get worked up about being away from your fitness routine. Remember holidays only come once a year and you should enjoy them!

I have heard so many people say that diet doesn’t affect acne and this is complete nonsense. Whatever you put into your body will have an affect on it, regardless of what you hear. The reason dermatologists and doctors say this is because it’s hard to sell you drugs when you are naturally clear!

There are certain supplements out there that are proven to stop acne in its tracks. Spirulina is one such supplement, and along with a few others can really put a hurtin’ on acne before it can do the same to you. Infact, even if your diet isn’t perfect, taking these supplements can clear you considerably.

Yoga Ball Exercise – The Best Workout Ball Ab Exercise

The yoga ball is a great way to maximize your home workout. They are not expensive by any means, and can be used a variety of different ways to target almost any area of the body. If you have one lying around the house go grab it after learning these simple exercises to get better results.

1.) The Abdominal roll:

To do the ab roll, kneel and lean your forearms onto the ball. Inhale to firm your stomach and then roll the ball away from you as far as you are comfortable with. Maintain ball contact with the entire surface of your forearms.

2.) Ball Balance

For this position, you must lie on top of the ball so it is directly under your waist. Maintain balance by keeping your hands on the floor, now lift your legs off the ground. When done right you should be relatively straight. If you can, try to hold it for thirty seconds. For a variation of this try only balancing with one hand, then switch to the other.

3.) Back Extension

This position begins very similar to the ball balance position. However, this move requires you to balance with your feet instead of your arms. For this pose, hold your arms out like an airplane then gently try to bend your torso. If done correctly, it should look like you are trying to touch the ground with your nose.

Half the workout benefit you get from a yoga ball is from resistance. The other half comes from the ball challenging you to balance. However, if you are a beginner using a yoga ball and are experiencing some trouble, then try balancing yourself next to a wall or some other stable object. To get a full workout, do two or three sets of each position for about twelve reps as time goes by, you can increase your sets and repetitions as you get stronger.

What Causes Your Hairline (Edges) To Become Thin?

If you’re like me, I’ve dealt with a thin hairline for most of my life. I believe some of it is hereditary and some is because of unhealthy hair care practices. My edges took a turn for the worse when I got micro-braids in my hair. They were braided so tight, that they literally pulled a good portion of the hair out. That was eight years ago and I haven’t had braid since then. When I began my journey towards healthy hair, this was one of the areas in which I wanted to see improvement. Through some research and talking to others with the same issue, I found the following tips to be helpful in re-growing my hairline and thickening it up a bit.

First thing is to stop any practices that contribute to adding stress to your edges. This may include wearing braids and pony tails that are too tight, wearing cotton hair bands, applying gels, constant brushing, frequent touch-ups, etc.

Castor Oil – applying this oil on a regular basis helps to stimulate the hair follicles

Scalp Massages – another practice that aid in stimulating the hair follicles and blood circulation in the scalp. My suggestion would be to massage your edges every other day with castor oil and other essential oils. Moisturize – apply a moisturizer to your edges every night after your scalp massage. My suggestion would be a homemade moisturizing sprits consisting of water and castor oil.

Be Consistent – success does not happen overnight and hair growth certainly doesn’t either. It is imperative to be consistent with the above practices and remember that it takes time. Determine how often and for how long you will apply these practices and then stick to it. You will see the results of your labor in due time and will be rewarded with a thicker hairline.
